Crispy and flavorful baked garlic parmesan potato wedges, perfect as a savory side dish or snack. These wedges are seasoned with garlic powder, Italian herbs, and topped with shredded parmesan cheese for a deliciously cheesy finish. Easy to prepare and baked to golden perfection, they are a healthier alternative to fried potato wedges.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 3-4 large russet potatoes, sliced into wedges

Seasonings and Oil

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning

Cheese and Garnish

  • ½ cup shredded parmesan cheese
  • Optional: fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • Optional: ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a large baking sheet and set it aside to prepare for baking the potato wedges.
  2. Prepare Potatoes and Seasoning: Place the potato wedges in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle them with olive oil and toss thoroughly to coat all wedges evenly. In a small separate bowl, whisk together the salt, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Then sprinkle the shredded parmesan cheese over the potato wedges and toss again to evenly distribute the cheese and seasoning mixture.
  3. Arrange and Bake: Spread the coated potato wedges on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, with the skin side down. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 35 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender and golden brown on the edges.
  4. Finish and Serve: Once baked, optionally sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley or cilantro for a fresh note. Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dressing for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the potato wedges are cut evenly to ensure uniform baking.
  • For extra crispiness, you can increase oven temperature to 400°F and reduce baking time to around 20-25 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.
  • Using fresh garlic instead of garlic powder will give a more intense garlic flavor but may brown faster.
  • These wedges are best served immediately for optimal crispness but can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
  • For a gluten-free option, check the seasoning blends to ensure no gluten-containing additives.
