These Biscuit Dough Garlic Knots are a quick and delicious appetizer or snack made from refrigerated biscuit dough tied into knots, brushed with a flavorful garlic butter mixture, and baked until golden and flaky. Perfect for parties, game days, or whenever you crave a garlicky, cheesy treat.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 16.3 ounce can refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  2. Shape the Knots: Open the can of refrigerated biscuit dough and cut each biscuit in half. Roll each half into a rope approximately 6 inches long. Then tie each rope into a knot, tucking the ends underneath. Place the knots evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add the minced garlic cloves and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic or butter. Remove from heat and stir in the grated parmesan cheese, oregano, parsley, and salt until well combined.
  4. Brush Knots with Garlic Butter: Using a pastry brush, generously brush each biscuit knot with about half of the garlic butter mixture, ensuring each knot is well coated. Save the remaining butter mixture for later.
  5. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the knots for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they have puffed up and are lightly golden brown on top.
  6. Final Brush: Immediately after removing the knots from the oven, brush them with the remaining garlic butter while they are still warm. This allows the butter to soak into the flaky layers, enhancing flavor and richness.

Notes

  • Use refrigerated biscuit dough for convenience, but you can substitute with homemade biscuit dough if preferred.
  • Do not overcook the garlic in the butter to avoid bitterness.
  • Tie knots tightly to prevent them from unraveling during baking.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven for a few minutes to refresh.
