It’s easy to prepare, stores well, and adds a delightful Asian-inspired flair to your meals.

Ingredients

Oils

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Acid and Sweeteners

  • 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
  • 2-3 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey, simple syrup, agave, or sugar)

Sauces and Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or gluten-free liquid aminos)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, very finely minced or ginger paste
  • 1 fat garlic clove, finely minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (or a squirt of Sriracha)
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the olive oil, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, maple syrup, and soy sauce in a small bowl or a jar with a lid. Add the finely minced fresh ginger, garlic, salt, red pepper flakes, and toasted sesame seeds.
  2. Whisk or Shake: Whisk all the ingredients together thoroughly until the mixture is well combined and smooth. If using a jar, secure the lid tightly and shake vigorously.
  3. Store Properly: Pour the dressing into an airtight container or keep it sealed in the jar and refrigerate. It will stay fresh for up to 5 days. Remember to shake or stir the dressing before each use to reincorporate any separated ingredients.

Notes

  • You can substitute maple syrup with honey, simple syrup, agave nectar, or sugar depending on your preference.
  • For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free liquid aminos instead of soy sauce.
  • Adjust the amount of red pepper flakes or Sriracha to suit your desired spice level.
  • This dressing is perfect as a salad dressing, dipping sauce, or marinade for grilled vegetables and proteins.
  • Store in the refrigerator and shake well before each use to maintain the best consistency and flavor.
