Fresh and homemade strawberry lemonade combines the classic tartness of lemonade with the sweet, juicy flavor of fresh strawberries and a hint of aromatic basil, creating a perfect cold and refreshing beverage ideal for hot days or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

For the Lemonade Base

  • 10 cups lemonade (or 1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate*)

Fruit and Garnishes

  • 1/2 lb strawberries, washed and hulled
  • 1 lemon, sliced for garnish
  • 6 fresh basil leaves (optional, a small handful, lightly packed)
  • Ice, as needed to serve

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lemonade base: Pour 10 cups of lemonade into a large pitcher. If using frozen lemonade concentrate, prepare according to package instructions by mixing the 12 oz can of concentrate with 4 1/3 cans of water. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the strawberries: Set aside 4 strawberries to slice for garnish. Cut the remaining strawberries in half to prepare for blending.
  3. Blend strawberries and basil: In a blender or food processor, combine the halved strawberries and fresh basil leaves (if using). Blend or process until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Combine and serve: Stir the blended strawberry mixture, the reserved sliced strawberries, and lemon slices into the lemonade. Serve the strawberry lemonade over glasses filled with ice for a cold and refreshing drink.

Notes

  • If using 1 (12 oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, prepare it according to package instructions by mixing with 4 1/3 cans of water.
  • Fresh basil leaves are optional but add a fragrant herbal note to the lemonade.
  • Adjust ice quantity based on how cold you prefer your lemonade.
  • For a sweeter version, consider adding a little honey or sugar to taste during blending.
