Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 3-4 ice cubes
  • 6 mint leaves
  • 3 lemon balm leaves (optional) or fresh lime juice
  • 1.5 tbsp elderflower cordial (or 1 tbsp elderflower syrup)
  • Sparkling water or club soda to top up

Instructions

  1. Add Ice: Add a handful of 3-4 ice cubes to your serving glass to chill the drink and keep it refreshing.
  2. Prepare Herbs: Place 6 mint leaves and 3 lemon balm leaves (if using) in your palm and clap your hands together gently to release their aromatic oils and fragrance. Then place the leaves into the glass.
  3. Mix Liquids: Pour 1.5 tablespoons elderflower cordial (or 1 tablespoon elderflower syrup) over the ice and herbs, followed by sparkling water or club soda to fill the glass.
  4. Stir and Serve: Use a muddling spoon or a long spoon to gently stir the mixture, combining the flavors well. Serve immediately and enjoy your fragrant Hugo Spritz mocktail!

Notes

  • Substitute lemon balm leaves with a splash of fresh lime juice if preferred.
  • Adjust the amount of elderflower cordial or syrup to taste for sweetness.
  • Use club soda if sparkling water is unavailable.
  • For a chilled glass, pre-cool your glassware in the freezer before preparing the drink.
  • This mocktail is alcohol-free and suitable for all ages.
