A vibrant and spicy Mango Habanero Salsa that combines the sweetness of ripe mangoes with the fiery kick of habanero peppers, balanced by sautéed red peppers and fresh herbs. Perfect as a zesty topping or dip to elevate your meals.

Ingredients

Fresh Produce

  • 1 Mango, peeled and diced
  • 2 Habanero peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/2 Red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1/3 cup Red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1 Lime

Other

  • 1/2 tsp Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Sauté the Red Pepper: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the red pepper slices and sauté for a few minutes until they soften and begin to brown slightly. Once done, set aside and allow to cool completely.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the diced mango, finely chopped habaneros, red onion, fresh parsley, and the juice of one lime. Season with salt and black pepper according to your taste preferences.
  3. Mix in Cooled Red Pepper: Add the cooled sautéed red peppers to the bowl with other ingredients. Stir everything together thoroughly until well combined.
  4. Store and Chill: Transfer the salsa to an airtight container and refrigerate. Let it chill to let the flavors meld. This salsa can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days, making it ideal for meal prep or entertaining.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of habaneros to control the heat level.
  • For a milder version, remove all seeds and membranes from the habaneros.
  • The salsa tastes best when allowed to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
  • Use fresh lime juice for the best brightness and flavor.
  • This salsa pairs well with grilled meats, tacos, or as a dip with chips.
